Community Shred Day
The Miami Springs Police Department will hold a community shred day on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 between 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Miami Springs Recreation Center. Miami Springs Police Officers and Safeguard Document Destruction will be there to shred your documents. The free shred service is available to Miami Springs residents and businesses only with a limit of 4 file size boxes of paper.

Back to School
Miami-Dade County Public Schools are back in session starting Monday, August 21st. That means it’s time to slow down and take extra caution throughout the neighborhood in the morning and afternoon. Be especially careful of the 15mph school zones around each of our Miami Springs schools. As always, you should be careful throughout the neighborhood as many kids walk and/or bike to school. School also means more traffic in the morning and in the afternoon. Please allow extra time and plan accordingly. Below, find the full Miami-Dade County schedule for the upcoming school year:
Springs Helps Keys: Hurricane Relief Drive
Miami Springs resident, George A. Aguilar, along with the Florida International Terminal LLC. (FIT) and Hamburg Sud North America are collaborating to gather necessary items for families in need, post-hurricane, from the Florida Keys. The items collected will be delivered to the American Legion post 154 in Marathon, Fla., who will then distribute those items accordingly. A red 20 foot shipping container is parked at the Miami Springs Rec Center parking lot. Beloved former Mayor of Miami Springs John Cavalier, Jr’s services have been changed to Satuday, September 23rd at noon at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (4020 Curtis Parkway, Miami Springs, FL 33166.) The service will be followed by a reception at the Miami Springs Woman’s Club, directly across from the City Hall Chambers he warmly served for so many years.
